Andrew Lackowitz

Andrew Lackowitz, 78, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Ann’s Home for Aged.  Born in Bayonne, he was a lifelong resident.

Mr. Lackowitz was a carbon paper maker for Huber Ink.  An avid baseball fan, Mr. Lackowitz also enjoyed horse racing.

Mr. Lackowitz is survived by his companion and sweetheart, Irene Hershberg.

A cherished uncle, Mr. Lackowitz is also survived by his loving niece, Theresa Olear; his late nephew, Michael Plaskon; Michael’s loving wife, Sharon Plaskon; his dear great nieces, Jennifer Wagmiller, Monica Davis and Stacy Stack; his dear great nephews, Michael Olear, Michael Plaskon, and Jeffrey Plaskon; one adoring great grandniece; and ten great grandnephews.  He was predeceased by his dear siblings, Stephen, William, Nicholas and John Lackowitz, Mary Tagg and Anna Plaskon.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015.  A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. followed by cremation at Rosehill Crematory, Linden.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Panachida will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial of the cremains will take place at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
