George Andrew Resetar

George Andrew Resetar, 80, passed away at his residence on Sunday, October 2, 2016.  He was born and raised in Bayonne, graduating from Bayonne High School in 1953.

Mr. Resetar worked for Bell Telephone and subsequent subsidiaries as a Systems Tech until his retirement in 1998.  An avid sports enthusiast, Mr. Resetar played for numerous basketball, baseball, and softball teams throughout his youth and early adulthood.  Later, he turned his attention to coaching Bayonne-based youth baseball teams.  In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing with friends.

Mr. Resetar proudly served the nation as a member of the United States Army from 1957 to 1963.

Mr. Resetar is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Karen (nee: Osenenko); his loving children, Dr. Andrea Resetar, and Gary Resetar, and his wife, Jill; his cherished grandchildren, Hannah McMullan, and Cole and Conner Resetar.  He was predeceased by his dear parents, Catherine (nee: Zakutansky) and Andrew Resetar.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Friday, October 7, 2016. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Henry’s Church at 10:45 a.m.  Cremation will be private.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Bayonne youth sports program of your choice.
