Helen R. Grudinoff

Helen R. Grudinoff, formerly of Dunnellon, FL and Watchung, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at her home in Avon Park, FL at the age of 83.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on October 13, 1931 to Vladimir and Domicila "Anna" (Ezykovich) Rapacewich, Helen grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Long Island City High School. After graduation she became a bookkeeper and married the man she devoted the rest of her life to, Gregory (Greg) Grudinoff. Helen lived in Watchung, NJ for almost 30 years with Greg and their son, Mark, before Helen and Greg moved to Dunellon, FL and she has resided in Avon Park, FL since 2004.

Helen's joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt and loved spending time reminiscing and laughing with her family. She was a faithful member of the Holy Cross Orthodox Church and the Russian Brotherhood Organization. In her free time, Helen enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, traveling, going for walks and spending time with her family. Helen was an avid bowler with multiple perfect games.

Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Gregory Grudinoff of Avon Park, FL and their son, Mark Grudinoff and his wife, Colleen Crowley, of Shrewsbury, MA; her sisters Nettie Zielinski of Iselin, NJ, and Olga Lometz of Wrightstown, NJ and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, November 6 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Bayonne Memorial Home, 854 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ. Parastas will be held at 6:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 98 West 28th St., Bayonne, NJ on Friday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m. with burial immediately following at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to Holy Cross Orthodox Church, 2365 South Olga Drive SE, Fort Meyers, FL 33905.
