Helen McElroy (nee: Napieralski), 95, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Cranford. Born on January 12, 1919 to the late Michalena and Stanley Napieralski, Mrs. McElroy was a devoted homemaker who lived in Jersey City and Bayonne where she raised her children and enjoyed her precious grandchildren. She was a devoted member of St. Henry’s Parish prior to moving to Cranford.
Mrs. McElroy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Francis X. McElroy. She is survived by her loving daughters, Michalena Icklan, and her husband, Richard, and Ellen Perrota, and her husband, Thomas; her cherished grandchildren, Susan Icklan, Richard Icklan, and his wife, Amy, Jennifer Icklan, and her husband, Matt Eckert, Thomas Perrota, and his wife, Lisa, and Michael Perrota, and his wife, Michelle; her adoring great grandchildren, Casey, Jake and Reese Icklan, Isabella Oland and the late Charles Oland, and Alyssa, Tommy and Luke Perrota; and her dear sister, Frances Johnson. She was predeceased by her dear siblings, Lucy Hennessey, Stella DiMichele and Edward Napieralski.
The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday, November 24, 2014. A funeral Mass will be offered at St. Henry’s Church at 10:45 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
