Nicholas Anthony Barresi

Nicholas Anthony Barresi, Sr., age 64, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 9, 2016, with his loving family by his side. A viewing will be held at Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc., 854 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ on Friday, October 14th, where visitors will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A religious service followed by Military Honors will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Born in Jersey City, Nicholas was a life-long Bayonne resident and proudly served our nation in the United States Marine Corp as a lance corporal.

Nick will be remembered as a handy man (who could fix anything) along with being an avid fisherman, and for his unwavering loyalty, profound sense of respect, quick wit and great sense of humor.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Elena Barresi (nee: Scord), and their beloved children, their son, Nicholas, Jr. and his wife, Dana and, their daughter, Rosemary Barresi. He is also survived by his cherished twin grandchildren, Nicholas III and Sophia Barresi.  He is predeceased by his parents, James T. Barresi and Gertrude Rubinsky.  He also leaves his dear siblings, Josephine and her husband, Nelson, James and his wife, Nancy, Catherine and her husband, Michael and Thomas and his wife, Margaret.  He is also survived by his son Bobby Brown and his wife, Charmaine, their five children and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Nick joins his faithful canine companion, Katrina, who along with his family loved him simply for the good man he was.
