Victoria Bayot

February 25, 1942 ~ August 14, 2015 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Victoria Bayot, 73, a resident of the Spring Valley section of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2015 at Spring Valley Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

She was born February 25, 1942 in Amadeo, Cavite in her native Philippines. She was one of eleven siblings born to Galicano Sumagui and Margarita Villanueva. She was married for 47 years to Rogelio Bayot, Sr.

She came from a very humble beginning having taken immense responsibility of accepting the role of fatherhood at an early age when her father and two oldest brothers died while she and her other siblings were still young. Her hard work, perseverance and deep faith in God became her strongest allies against her austere and harsh way of life. Despite all her struggles and adversities, she accomplished her goals and aspirations with honors from grade school and high school. She eventually graduated college at Centro Escolar University in the Philippines with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She taught diligently in her home town of Amadeo, Cavite where she held the position of Guidance Counselor. She then migrated first to Iran working as a housekeeper, then she came to the United States earning her right as a citizen after years of hard work as a housekeeper then eventually becoming a federal employee with the United States Postal Service.

Victoria was always willing to lend a helping hand without expecting anything in return except prayers and friendship. She was devoted to her faith, involving herself in parish volunteerism and prayer groups. She had a knack for arranging flowers which explains why she loved going to flower shows and botanical gardens. She was an avid traveler, having experienced many parts of the world with her husband and daughter. Her most favorite and most cherished time was holding her grandchildren in her arms for as long as she could.

She is survived by her husband, Rogelio, Sr., her five children: Andrew, Marilou, James Audrey and Rogelio, Jr and seven grandchildren: Nathaniel, Noah, Jasmine, Zeline, Shaina, Ryan and Christiana.
