Walter Bilyk, 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Bayonne Medical Center. Born in Zboriw, Ukraine, he has resided in Bayonne since 1960. He was a maintenance worker in New York for Building Services 32 BJ. He was a former member of the Ukrainian National Home, Bayonne. Mr. Bilyk was also a survivor of a concentration camp in Siberia.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Olga (nee: Luba); his loving children, Michael (Margaret), John, Boguslaw (Susan) Bilyk, and Mary Maniscalki (Anthony); his dear brother, Marion Bilyk; his cherished grandchildren, Kerry, Tracy, Nicholas, Jared and Maxwell Bilyk, and Brandon and Justin Maniscalki; and his adoring great grandchildren, Johnathan and Jason Nitsche and Jada Bilyk. He was predeceased by his siblings, Natalie Stasiuk, Stephanie and Eugene Bilyk.
The funeral will be conducted from the William Kohoot Funeral Home on Saturday, April 18, 2015 . A funeral Liturgy will be at 10:00 a.m. at Assumption of the BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m and 7:00-9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn and Colitis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
