Ann Herbert Obituary

Ann P. Herbert (nee: Lear) passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Overlook Hospital, Summit.  She was born in Scranton, PA to the late Margaret (nee: Kelleher) and Thomas W. Lear Sr. and was a long-time Bayonne resident, prior to relocating to Mountainside.  Mrs. Herbert was a board certified gastroenterology nurse and was employed at Bayonne Medical Center for 37 years, retiring in 2003.

Mrs. Herbert was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas J. Herbert, Jr.  She is survived by her loving children, Thomas J. Herbert III, and his wife, Melanie, Mary Hope Zitelli, and her husband, Paul, Kelly Ann Crisonino, and her husband, Richard, and Faith Marie Sands, and her husband, Christopher; her ten adoring grandchildren; her four adoring great grandchildren; and her dear sibling, Gerard Lear.  She was also predeceased by her dear siblings, Thomas Lear, Jr., Johanna Finch and Marie Colley.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.  A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Henry at 10:45 a.m. Private interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans’ Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation at https://www.alzinfo.org/donate/donation_form/. 

Due to current CDC guidelines, visitors and funeral attendees are asked to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
