Eugene M. Wisniewski

Eugene M. Wisniewski, 86, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Center for Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains, NJ.  He was born in Jersey City to the late Barbara (nee: Wodarski) and Matthew Wisniewski and was a Bayonne resident for over 65 years.  He was a general sales manager for Approved Fire Protection Company, South Plainfield, prior to retirement.

 Mr. Wisniewski proudly served our nation as a member of the United States Navy, which included time on the Battleship USS Wisconsin, BB-64. An accomplished musician, he played the saxophone, clarinet, flute and piccolo and was a member of the United States Navy Band.

He was a parishioner of Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Andrew’s Church and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Star of the Sea, Council #371.

Mr. Wisniewski is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Wisniewski (nee: Machinski). He was predeceased by his son, Eugene Jude Wisniewski, and was the loving father of Stephen Wisniewski and his late wife, Kimberly, Julia Jandoli and her husband, Wayne, and Deborah Aznar and her husband, Eric; the loving grandfather of Matthew, Ashleigh and Tyler Wisniewski and Chloe and Sophia Aznar; and the dear brother of Bernard Wisniewski and his wife, Amelia.  Mr. Wisniewski is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Saturday, October 16, 2021.  A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10:00 a.m. followed in entombment at Holy Name Mausoleum, Jersey City.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday, October 15th from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
