Herman Juenge passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2020, at Carepoint Health at Bayonne Medical Center. He was born in Jersey City to the late Martha (Beutel) and Carl Juenge, grew up in North Bergen, and was a long-time Bayonne resident. He was a toll collector for the NJ Turnpike Authority prior to retirement.
Mr. Juenge proudly served the nation as a member of the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion F.A. Mackenzie Post and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was a Master Mason and recipient of the 40-year pin from Free and Accepted Masons, Peninsula Lodge No.99.
Mr. Juenge was also a member of the Downtown Seniors, Andreans, the Atlas Yacht Club and the Deutscher Club of Clark, NJ.
Mr. Juenge was predeceased by his beloved wife, Anne Juenge (Ryan). He is survived by his loving children, Martin Juenge, and his wife, Magdalena, and Anne Marie Juenge; his cherished grandson, Maximilian Patrick; and his dear sister, Helen Leone (the late Daniel).
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, private funeral services were conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc.
