Karen O’Hare Mahady passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020. She was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Blanche (nee: Bayer) and James Quinn O’Hare and was a long-time resident of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, prior to relocating to Bayonne in 2014. Karen was a teacher for the New York City Public Schools for over 40 years prior to retirement.
A devoted parishioner of the Church of St. Henry, she was a tremendous contributor to the parish’s food pantry.
Her family was her life as she was a devoted and loving aunt, sister and sister-in-law.
Karen was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Mahady, in 2009. She is survived by her loving siblings, James Quinn O’Hare, Jr., Brian M. O’Hare, Laraine DeSalvo, and her husband, Anthony, and Maureen O’Hare; her cherished niece, Jennifer Sabatini, and her husband, Michael; her adoring nephew and Godson, Daniel DeSalvo; and her beloved pets, Brittany, Buffy and Dexter. Karen was predeceased by her dear sibling, Stephen O’Hare.
