Mary Rose Appel

Mary Rose Appel (nee: Ferrante) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at her Bayonne residence.  She was born in Jersey City to the late Carmela (nee: Perri) and Serafino Pietro Ferrante and was a Bayonne resident for 34 years.

Mary was a Spanish teacher at Bayonne High School and also worked in Public School #14 and the South Plainfield School District.

She was a warm and generous person and touched the lives of her family, friends and students.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Elliot Appel; her loving children, Danielle McCarthy, and her husband, Andrew, and Alexandra Appel; and her cherished grandson, Owen McCarthy.

Private funeral services will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc.  Donations may be made to the ALS Association, 1300 Wilson Blvd., Suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a memorial service will take place at a later date.
