Ramon Rafael Montanez

Ramon Rafael Montanez passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Jersey City Medical Center.  He was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to the late Graciela (nee: Torres) and Fermin Montanez, and was a long-time Bayonne resident.  He was a bus driver for New Jersey Transit prior to retirement.

Ramon is survived by his beloved wife, Maria (nee: Valentin); his loving children, Isaura Velez (Richard), Ivette Stack (Craig), Alicia Bonilla, Reina Montanez, Henry Montanez, Jennifer Montanez and Raymond Montanez; his cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Dennis, Alexandra, Olivia, Jason, Ariana, David, Darius, Vanessa and Veronica; his adoring great grandchildren, Melody and Nathaniel; and his dear siblings, Maria, Antonia, Juan, Nora, Juana, Evelyn, Linda, Rosemary, Magdelin, Reynaldo, Sara, Eduardo and Fermin Jr.  He was predeceased by his dear siblings, Jose and Manuel.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Friday, March 3, 2023.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Jersey City at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  

Ramón Rafael Montañez falleció pacíficamente el lunes 27 de febrero de 2023 en el Jersey City Medical Center.  Nació en San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, hijo de Graciela (de soltera: Torres) y Fermín Montañez, y fue residente de Bayonne durante mucho tiempo.  Fue conductor de autobús para New Jersey Transit antes de jubilarse.

 A Ramón le sobreviven su amada esposa, María (nee: Valentin);  sus amados hijos, Isaura Vélez (Richard), Ivette Stack (Craig), Alicia Bonilla, Reina Montanez, Henry Montanez, Jennifer Montanez y Raymond Montanez;  sus queridos nietos, Christopher, Daniel, Dennis, Alexandra, Olivia, Jason, Ariana, David, Darius, Vanessa y Veronica;  sus adorados bisnietos, Melody y Nathaniel;  y sus queridos hermanos María, Antonia, Juan, Nora, Juana, Evelyn, Linda, Rosemary, Magdelin, Reynaldo, Sara, Eduardo y Fermin Jr.  Le precedieron en la muerte sus queridos hermanos, José y Manuel.

 La funeraria que estará a cargo es Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. el viernes 3 de marzo de 2023. Se llevará a cabo una misa fúnebre en la iglesia St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception, en Jersey City, a las 10:00 a. m., seguida de un entierro en el cementerio de Holy Cross.  , North Arlington.  El velorio se llevará a cabo en la funeraria el jueves a partir de las 3:00 p.m.  a las 8:00 p.m.
