Thomas P. McMahon passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021, at Clara Maass Medical Center. He was born in Bayonne to the late Margaret (nee: Considine) and Bernard McMahon and was a long-time resident. He graduated from Snyder High School in Jersey City and the United States Postal Training Facility in Norman, OK. He was a maintenance mechanic for the United States Postal Service for almost 40 years prior to retirement.
Thomas was predeceased by his beloved wife, Carol McMahon; and his loving son, Jeremy McMahon. He is survived by his loving son, Christopher McMahon; his step-son, Darren Burke; his grandchildren, Zavia and Zoe McMahon, and Sebastian Salvatore DiTaranto; his step- grandchildren, John, Darren and Nino Burke; and his dear siblings, Nancy Bonicioli, and her husband, William, Margaret Cirrito, and her husband, John, and James McMahon and his wife, Linda. He was also predeceased by his loving sister, Dorothy Ann Scott.
Visitation will take place at Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Cremation will be private. Interment will follow at a later date. The family requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Thomas’ memory in lieu of flowers.
