Anthony L. Scialabba, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2018. He was born in Bayonne to the late Anna (nee: Bruno) and Dominick Scialabba. He was employed by Best Foods International, retiring in 1987 after 45 years of service to the company.
Anthony proudly served the nation as a member of the United States navy during World War II.
Anthony was a volunteer for the St. Andrew’s Bridgemen Drum and Bugle Corps. He loved visiting 1st Street Park with friends and watching the softball leagues.
He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
Anthony is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Bridget (nee: Bonner) Scialabba; his loving children, Donna Scialabba, and her husband, Lawrence Kowalak, and Donald Scialabba, and his wife, Randie Toresco-Scialabba; his cherished granddaughter, Marguerite Scialabba; his dear sister, Rose Purzycki; and many loving nieces, nephews, a great niece and a great nephew. He was predeceased by his dear brothers, Morris, Frank and Joseph Scialabba.
The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Thursday, May 24, 2018. A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 11:00 a.m. A private cremation will follow. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
