Josephine (Sugzda) Tomczak

Josephine Tomczak (nee: Sugzda), 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.  She was born in Bayonne on June 17, 1929, to the late Euphemia (nee: McCaskill) and Joseph Sugzda, and was a long-time resident, prior to relocating to Hamilton Township.

Mrs. Tomczak was a faithful servant of the Lord at Bergen Point Community Church, where she prepared Communion, maintained the Altar, taught Sunday School and was a member of the craft group.

Mrs. Tomczak was predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry Tomczak, Sr.  She is survived by her loving children, Henry Tomczak, Jr. (Karen), Joanne Polera and Janice Dias (Carlos); her cherished grandchildren, James Polera (Chrissy), Jessica Fabula (John), Hannah Kulesza (Teddy), Jonathan Tomczak and Jared Dias; her adoring great grandchildren, Caleb and Aiden Polera: and her dear siblings, Joseph Sugzda (Mickey) and Ann Szyskowski.  She was also predeceased by her dear siblings, John and Duncan Sugzda, Mary Bauba, Sarah Dougherty, Euphemia Rhode and Janet LaRocco.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday, December 4, 2017.  A funeral service will be held at Bergen Point Community Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Oceanview the Cemetery Beautiful, Staten Island.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Home Society of NJ, 635 South Clinton Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08611.
