Our beloved aunt Alice Jurcisin, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday,
August 4, 2025. She was born in Bayonne on October 29, 1929 to the late Susan (nee:
Kasper) and John Jurcisin. She was a lifelong resident.
Alice was a secretary for Sweeney & Bell in both Jersey City and New York. Although
she enjoyed her career, her greatest joy came from being there and caring for her
friends and family.
Alice cherished her sisters’ card nights, loved playing scratch-offs, enjoyed trips to
Atlantic City, and took the greatest pride in tending to her picture-perfect garden.
Her family will always remember the way she shared her artistic talents, was always
ready for a shopping spree, and how she never showed up empty-handed---arriving
with little treasures that made every visit special.
Alice was predeceased by her dear siblings, Joseph Jurcisin, John Jurcisin, Ann Jandris,
Marie Sweeney, Eleanor Reynolds, and William Jurcisin, as well as her beloved niece
and nephews Kathleen Phillips, Robert Reynolds, and Frank Jandris. She is survived
by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces, and a
great-grandnephew.
A Memorial Mass in her honor will be held at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church on Monday, October 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment of her ashes at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
