Ann Elizabeth Campbell (nee: Mulligan) passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bayonne to the late Ann (nee: O’Connor) and Luke Mulligan and was a lifelong Bayonne resident. She was employed at Best Foods prior to retirement and also worked as a bus attendant for the Bayonne Board of Education.
A devoted parishioner of Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish, she was a member of its Rosary Society and was also worked bingo on Friday nights at St. Mary’s.
Proud of her Irish heritage, she was a long-time member of Ireland’s 32.
Ann was a loving caregiver. She raised her eight children and nursed for her mother-in-law, Delia Campbell, and her husband, Thomas during their long illnesses. She was a loving grandmother, readily available to care for her 17 grandchildren. Friendly and engaging, she made numerous friends, especially while living at the Vito Building. She had a sharp wit and an engaging smile. She will be fondly remembered.
Mrs. Campbell was predeceased in 2004 by her beloved husband, Thomas V. Campbell. She is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth Reilly (Pete), Daniel Campbell, Eileen Rath (James), Diane Campbell, Thomas Campbell (Christa), Kevin Campbell (Lynn), Karen Murowski (Robert), and Mary Melin (Greg “Mel”); her adoring grandchildren, Casey Reilly, Peter Reilly (Abby), James and Bridget Rath, Jessica Stirzel (Luke), Natalie O'Pella (Justin), Megan Novchich (Matthew), Thomas Campbell (Shea), Ryan Campbell, Patrick Campbell, Kathryn Eggleston (Brian), Tracy Impellizeri (Joe), Allison Masley (Richard), Kelly Grebner (Ryan), Jennifer Murowski, Matthew Murowski and Connor Campbell Melin; her cherished great grandchildren, Mason, Carter, Rowan Reilly, RoseMary, Samuel, Justin O'Pella, Bennett and Elia Novchich and Mia Impellizer; her dear siblings, Luke Mulligan (Bunna) and Sr. Dorothy Dee, SSJ; many loving nieces and nephews; her devoted caretaker, MaryEllen Sanniola; and cherished friends at the Zito Building, especially her best pal Elsie. She was predeceased by her dear siblings, Thomas Mulligan, James Mulligan (Helen), Helen Marie D’Amato (Angelo), and Francis Dee (Gail).
The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
