Daniel J. McNerney

Daniel J. McNerney, 92, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at The Gardens at Monroe, Monroe Township. Born in Bayonne to the late Madge (nee: McCarthy ) and Thomas McNerney, Sr.,  he was a long-time Bayonne resident. Mr. McNerney retired from the Central Railroad of New Jersey in 1997 after 30 years of service. He proudly served the nation as a member of the United States Navy.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann Marie (nee: Walsh); and his dear siblings, Joan Vitone, and Thomas, John , James , William and Frank McNerney. He is survived by his loving children, Kelly Sosnowski (Mike), Daniel  J. Jr. (Mary Ellen), Michael (Renee), and Martin (Lorraine) McNerney; his cherished grandchildren, Daniel (Colleen),  Kevin, Christopher, and Martin McNerney and Megan McGuriman (Kevin); and his adored great grandchildren, Mae and Hudson Mc Nerney and Colin McGuriman.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Saturday, November 11, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of Blessed Miriam Teresa at St. Andrew the Apostle Church. Private cremation will follow. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
