David Holt passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Grandview Hospital, Hoover, AL. He was born in London and was a Bayonne resident, prior to relocating to Alabama in 2025. He was an analyst for Verisk Analytics and was also a civil servant in London prior to coming to the United States in the mid-1970s.
David was a competitive distance runner, representing England in the 1972 Munich Olympics, running the 10,000-meter event.
He and his cherished wife, Laraine, passed away eight days apart. He is survived by his loving son, Daniel Holt.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church at 10:00 a.m. David’s ashes will be inurned at Holy Name Cemetery following the Mass.
