Edward W. Mayo

Edward W. Mayo passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024, at his Bayonne residence with his loving family at his bedside. He was born in Bayonne to the late Stella (nee: Jadach) and Edward Mayo and was a lifelong resident.

Edward was an inspector for the Port Authority of NY & NJ, retiring 20 years ago.  A lover of boating and fishing, he was a member of the Mariners’ Yacht Club, Staten Island, NY.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife, Harriet (nee: Zielinska); his loving sons, David, and his wife, Jaime, and James, and his wife, Katie; his cherished grandchildren, Riley, D.J., Madison and Gavin; his dear siblings; George (Ann), Debra, Iris (Robbin); and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his dear sister, Patricia Mayo.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Friday, September 20, 2024.  A funeral Mass will be held at the Parish of Blessed Miriam Teresa at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
