Elizabeth (Marks) Prussak

Elizabeth Prussak (nee: Marks) passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at her Bayonne residence.  She was born in the Bronx to the late Ledwina (nee: McElroy) and Vincent Marks and was a Bayonne resident for over 50 years. She was an administrative assistant for Brooklyn Union Gas for 15 years prior to retirement in 1999.

A devoted parishioner of Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish, she was a member of its Rosary Society and a longtime CCD instructor.  She was also a member of the Marist Mothers' Club. She enjoyed traveling, especially with her good friends, Mary Murray, Claire Powanda and Lucita Heavey. 

Most of all, she loved her family. Mrs. Prussak was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph, and siblings Frank, Mary, Gert, Vincent and Helen.  She is survived by her loving sons, Joseph, and his wife, Maisie, and James, and his wife, Dana; and her cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Emily, Vanessa, Thomas and Martin, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  A Memorial Mass will take place at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. Mrs. Prussak’s ashes will be interred at St. John’s Cemetery, Queens, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Jude’s Hospital for Children, Covenant House or The Bowery Mission.
