Elizabeth "Betty" Moncrief

Elizabeth “Betty” Moncrief (nee: Dowling) passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at home. Born to the late Elizabeth (nee: Hogan) and Francis Dowling, Betty was a lifelong resident of Bayonne. She graduated from the Bayonne Hospital School of Nursing and dedicated over 35 years to her career as a registered nurse at Bayonne Hospital and Christ Hospital, specializing in Labor and Delivery. 

Betty found joy in painting, gardening, quilting, and crocheting, and she had a deep love for animals. Her passion for her Irish heritage was evident throughout her life. Above all else, Betty cherished her husband, sons, and grandchildren. 

Known for her selflessness, kindness, and empathy, Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jason; her loving sons, Jason (Jennifer), Michael (Jacqueline), and David (Elyssa); and her cherished grandchildren, Julia, Jason, David, and Noelle. She was preceded in death by her dear sister, Susan McFadden. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the Viewing on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Bayonne Memorial Home, 854 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ.
