It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Vincent Schultz on October 16,
2024 at Hackensack University Medical Center. He was born in Jersey City to Betty (nee:
Flynn) Bennett and George Schultz; grew up in Hoboken and was a long-time Bayonne resident.
He was a self-employed general contractor specializing in masonry and tile work.
George loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and feeding the deer in Pennsylvania. He had a
sweet tooth and was often seen eating Reese’s candy, brownies and donuts. George’s greatest
possessions were his scrapbooks containing articles highlighting his sons’ athletic achievements,
his Dodge Ram truck and his rottweiler, Gunther. He took great pride in the accomplishments of
his sons George (Danielle), Justin (Ingrid) and Christopher and looked forward to creating
special memories with his grandsons, Elliott and Tommaso.
In addition to his sons and grandsons, George is survived by his loving companion, Patricia
Niland; his cherished mother, Betty Bennett; his dear siblings, Rose, Margaret, Kenny, Jimmy,
and Patty and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, George, and dear
brother, Larry.
The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. Visitation will be held at the
funeral home on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will
take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Our Lady of Grace Church, Fairview, at 10:00
