Helen S. (Sawicki) Boyd

Helen S.  Boyd (nee: Sawicki) passed away peacefully on August 17, 2024, at her Bayonne residence with her daughter at her bedside. She was born in Bayonne to the late Mary (nee: Szubert) and John Sawicki and was a lifelong resident.  She was employed at Western Electric for over 25 years prior to retirement, and also worked at Standard Oil and Barney Stock.

Mrs. Boyd was a devoted parishioner of the Church of St. Henry and a member of the Seniors of Mount Carmel. She loved her trips to Atlantic City with friends, playing cards, and was a member of Young at Heart and Prime of Life.

A wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who was loving, thoughtful and generous and will be greatly missed by her family

Mrs. Boyd was predeceased by her beloved husband, William T. Boyd, Sr.; her cherished son, William T. Boyd, Jr.; and her adoring grandson, Zachary Boyd. She is survived by her loving daughter, Carol Manzi, and her husband, John; her adoring grandchildren, Marc William Manzi, and Joshua and Gabriel Boyd; and her cherished great grandchildren, Anna Marie Boyd and Zachary Boyd, Jr.  She was also predeceased by her dear siblings, Adolph, Joseph, and Frank Sawicki, Jean Hajduk and Dorothy White. She is also survived by nieces, nephew and grand nieces and grand nephews

 The family would like to thank Dr. Howard Levine and his staff, especially Dianna, Sharon from Promise Care, Sharon Moore from Promise Care and the Entire Staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for all their help and concern during Helens last days.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Thursday, August 22, 2024.  A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Henry at 9:30 a.m. following by cremation at Rosehill Crematory, Linden.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
