Helen (Pawlak) Brockman

Helen Brockman, the beautiful wife of Herman Brockman for 68 years, passed away suddenly on March 21, 2023, at her Austin, Texas residence.  Born at the Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City on August 29, 1935, to the late Wanda (nee: Szostek) and Harry Pawlak, she was a long-time resident of Bayonne. A Class of 1953 graduate of Bayonne High School, Helen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was cherished and loved by all.  An amazing supporter of all her family’s endeavors, she will be dearly missed.

Helen is survived by her beloved husband, Herman Brockman; her loving daughters Sherry Rymer (Bryan), Laurene Volkel (Bob); her cherished grandsons Drew Rymer, Dane Rymer (Lauren), Troy Volkel (Kelly) Chasen Volkel (Olivia); her adoring great grandson, Julian Rymer; her dear nephew, Scott Pawlak; her dear niece, Susan Karis; and her cherished grand nieces, Lily Madigan, Magdalyn and Malin.  She was preceded in death by her dear brother, Eugene Pawlak.   

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Saturday, April 1, 2023.  A funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Oceanview Cemetery, Staten Island.  Visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
