Irene (Abramovitz) Yevchak

Irene Yevchak (nee: Abramowitz), 95, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2016, with her loving family at her bed side.  Born in Union City, she was a resident of Bayonne for most of her life. 

She was a custodian for the Bayonne Board of Education, retiring 32 years ago.

A devoted parishioner of St. Andrew’s Church, Mrs. Yevchak was a former member of the Rosary Society and the choir.  She was also a member of the Holy Family Mother’s Club.

Mrs. Yevchak was predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrew.  She is survived by her loving daughters, Barbara Mentesana, Mary Kenny and Karen Connolly, and her husband, Paul; her cherished grandchildren, Susan Linder, Karen Rutkowski, Lori Salmon, Mark Connolly and Michael Connolly; and eight adoring great grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Saturday, October 29, 2016.  A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew’s Church at 12:00 p.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
