James S. (Jim) Pullaro – cherished husband, father, and Pappy – passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Phillipsburg. He was born in Bayonne to the late Gertrude (nee: Lynch) and Joseph Pullaro and was a long-time resident.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (nee: Campbell); his loving children, Jimmy and his wife Shannon, Jeffrey and his wife, Amy, and Brian and his wife, Robyn; his cherished grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Jackson, Avery and Henry; his amazing and treasured aunt, Annie; and his dear sisters, Joanne Krieger and her husband, Eddie, and Donna Tedesco and her husband, Vincent. Jim began his career in operations management where he worked for 30 years. He shifted his career, becoming a teacher for the Bayonne Board of Education for over 20 years and retired in 2016. Making this change brought Jim so much joy as he loved working with his colleagues and especially his students. Shortly after retiring, he moved to Stewartsville, NJ.
He was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary, Star of the Sea Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Star of the Sea Council #371, and a 1970 graduate of St. Peter’s University where he also served in R.O.T.C.
