Jeffrey "Jay" Sanniola

Jeffrey “Jay” Sanniola, 67, passed away peacefully on May 30. 2022.  He was born in Bayonne to the late Dorothy (nee: Matras) and Frank Sanniola and was a lifelong resident.  He was a self-employed construction worker and was also a pipe fitter for Exxon.

Jay was very involved in the Bayonne Youth Soccer Association when his children played.  He was loved by everyone, always ended conversations and phone calls with “I love you” and said it all the time!

Jay was survived by his beloved sons, Jason (Rosalina), Jeremy and Timothy (Angela) Sanniola, and their mother, Mary Ellen (nee: Veverka) Sanniola; his loving grandchildren, Valentina, Jakob, and Evan Sanniola; his dear siblings, Marc Sanniola (Nilda), Cynthia Caramazza, and Andrea Micewicz (Blaise); and many loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.  A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Donations may be made in Jay’s memory to a charity of your choice.
