Leo Berrigan passed away peacefully at his Toms River residence after a long illness. He was born in Franklin, NJ to the late Mary (nee: Morris) and William Leo Berrigan and was employed by the United States Post Office for 32 years, prior to retirement.
Leo had a love for football, and his favorite teams were Notre Dame & the Washington Redskins. He also loved landscaping around the yard when the weather allowed.
Leo is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Mary Ann Berrigan (nee: Seymour); his loving son, Kevin Berrigan (Alyssa); his cherished daughters, Patricia Mattioli (Aldo), Diane Fink (Ken), Meghan Hogg (David), Eileen Zakrzewski (Andy), George Scott (Robyn), Patricia Pandolfi (David), and Mary Koman (Warren); his adoring grandchildren, Emily, Brad, Erin, Samantha, Brooke, Lauren, Sean, Anthony, Elyse, David, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary J. Berrigan (nee: O’Brien); and his beloved granddaughter, Madison M. Pandolfi.
The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Saturday, January 30, 2021. A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
