Loretta (Barker) Brady

Loretta Brady (nee: Barker), a lifelong Bayonne resident, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, surrounded by her adoring family.   She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.  Her life was centered around always doing what was best for her family and friends.

Loretta was predeceased by the love of her life, Walter, in 1989; her brother, William Barker;  her sisters, Miriam Burns (the late John) and Bonnie Stewart (the late James) and her parents, Marie (nee: Hogan) and Herman Barker.

She was the devoted mother of Dawn Brady and Jill Ribaudo (James); and the loving grandmother of her adored granddaughter, Abigail Ribaudo.

She was the dear sister-in-law and friend of Barbara Barker, cherished best friend of Arlene Pszonek for over 66 years, and Carol Bednarski.  They were not sisters by birth but they knew from the start God put them together to be “sisters-by-heart.” All of Loretta’s friends meant the world to her and they know who they are.

She is also survived by her wonderful nieces and nephews, Jeff (who was loved like a son), Sara, Cory, Cody, and Collin Stewart, Jon, Chris and Tierney Barker, Mary Jane, Holly, and Amy Burns; her dear aunt Catherine Golding and many cousins.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday, June 13, 2022.  A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Miriam Teresa Parish at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
