Maria (Valentin) Montanez

Maria Montanez (nee: Valentin), 77, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Birchwood Rehabilitation Center, Cranford. She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Cecilia (nee: Rodrigues) and Alfonso Valentin.

Mrs. Montanez was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and homemaker who loved cooking, cleaning, reading the Bible and attending church services.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ramon Montanez, who passed away in February.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Isaura Velez (Richard), Ivette Stack (Craig), Alisia Bonilla, and Reina Montanez; her dear siblings, Carmen Rosa Montanez , Ramona Rosado, Santos Valentin, Isabel Sanchez, Awilda Franqui, Miguel Valentin, and Olga Iris Perez. She was predeceased by her brothers, Alejandro Valentin, Hector Valentin and Nelson Valentin.

She is also survived by her eight cherished grandchildren, Christopher Perez; Daniel Velasquez; Dennis Bonilla; Alexandra Velasquez; Olivia Velez; Jason Perez; Ariana Velez; David Montanez; and two adoring great grandchildren, Melody Bonilla and Nathaniel Bonilla.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Tuesday, June 20 2023.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Jersey City, and 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday, June 19, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
