Mary (Dziekan) Levine

Mary S. Levine (nee: Dziekan) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Carepoint Health at Bayonne Medical Center. She was born in Bayonne to the late Anthony and Sophie (nee: Marczak) Dziekan and was a lifelong resident.

A 1943 graduate of Bayonne High School, Mrs. Levine was a nursing assistant for over 10 years at Bayonne Medical Center before retiring and was also employed at Prentice Hall Publishing Company.  She was a member of the Rosary Society of St. Henry’s and was a member of the Bingo committee. She was also the Past President of the Downtown Senior Citizens Club for 16 years, a member of the jewel bowling league of the K. of C. and the Red Hatters.  She was an avid crocheter and famous for her outstanding kruschickis.

Mrs. Levine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Levine; She is survived by her devoted children, Lawrence Levine (Terry DiPalo), Barbara Levine, Mary Ellen Forker (Charles), Susan Percella (Edward Riche) and Judith Levine (Joseph Esposito); her loving grandchildren, Christopher Levine (Kristen), Vincent (Coleen Fabula) and Erica Percella, James (Jane), Diane and Charles Forker; three adoring great grandchildren, Tyler, Xandra, and Arabella Levine; many loving nieces and nephews; and her dedicated caretaker, Maryellen Sanniola.

She was also predeceased by her dear siblings, John Dziekan, Josephine Wagner, Anna Pagnotta, and Helen, Stanley and Ignatius Niemczyk.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on January 3, 2021.  A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Henry at 10:45 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Sunday, January 2, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Henry’s Food Pantry.
