It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Mary Ellen Duffy. She died peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.
A graduate of Holy Family Academy, Mary was employed at Bristol Myers Squibb prior to retirement.
Mary will be remembered as a kind, loving and honorable woman and will live in the hearts of her family forever.
Mary was the proud daughter of Irish immigrant parents, Mary (nee: Boyle) and Patrick O’Donnell of Falcorrib, County Donegal. She was the devoted wife of 42 years to Robert Duffy. Mary was the loving sister and best friend to Elizabeth Finnerty; the loving aunt of Colleen Finnerty, and her husband, Delsin Mills, Patrick Finnerty, Maureen and Jim Slover, Kay and Bruno Ciaralli, Roseanne and Steve Freeman, Walter and Grace Dillon, and their families.
“We knew this moment would come one day, and now that it has, there is an emptiness in our hearts and family that can never be filled.”
The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Friday, October 9, 2020. A funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Henry at 10:45 a.m. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
