Michael James Ruge, Sr.

Michael James Ruge, Sr. passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston.  He was born in Jersey City on July 15, 1958 to the late Rose Epps (nee Smith) and Daniel Ruge and was a lifelong Bayonne resident.  Mike owned and operated Dottie’s Luncheonette on Broadway for many years,  later working as a cook and eventually becoming a self-employed handyman.

Michael is survived by his loving children Lissa Ruge and Michael James Ruge, Jr and his wife Cheryl as well as his cherished grandchildren Isabella, Michael and Nolan. He is also survived by his siblings, Daniel Ruge Jr,  Craig Ruge and Janet Elias  and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his stepfather, Walter Epps and his beloved siblings William and Robert Ruge.

Visitation will take place at Bayonne Memorial on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5-8pm.  Private Cremation will follow.
