Robert J. Hickey

Robert J. Hickey passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023.  He was born in Jersey City and was a long-time Bayonne resident.  

A graduate of St. Peter’s University, Robert was a member of Alpha Phi Omega.  He was an accountant at Kean University for many years prior to retiring in 2019. He was also employed at Paine Webber before his time at Kean University.  

A devoted member of the Boy Scouts of America, he was active in Troop 27, having served as a scoutmaster in the past.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Diane (nee: Costantino) Hickey; his loving children, Christopher Hickey and Kristina Hickey; his cherished grandson, Michael Hickey; his dear siblings, John Hickey, and Angela White, and her husband, Gary; and several loving nieces and one dear nephew. He was predeceased by his loving mother and stepfather, Geraldine (nee: Zavaglia) and Hugh Hickey; and his dear brother, Joseph Hickey.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.  A funeral service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m.  A private cremation will follow. Visitation will take place at the funeral on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
