Rosalie Gargiulo Maguire, 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on August 21, 2023.
Rosalie was born on November 3, 1929, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Louis and Ausilia Gargiulo. She dedicated 23 years of service to the City of Bayonne in the Finance Department. She was also involved in several community groups and organizations including past President and member of St. Henry’s Rosary Society, a volunteer at St. Henry’s Bingo, a Eucharistic minister and lector for St. Henry’s Parish, and a member of the New Frontier Democrats Society.
Rosalie was predeceased by her husband Vincent R. Maguire, sister Christina D’Elia, and brother Anthony Gargiulo, and will be greatly missed by her best friend and sister, Elizabeth Valanzola. She will be forever cherished and remembered by her children, Rosalie Wisniewski (Steven), Mary Beth Maguire (Mercedes), and Patricia Monaghan (John). She was a devoted grandmother to Vincent Wisniewski (Nicole), Catherine Wisniewski, Steven Wisniewski, Ryan Monaghan (Rhadara), Christopher Monaghan (Samantha), and proud great grandmother to Grace Wisniewski. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 10:45 AM at St. Henry’s Roman Catholic Church, 82 W. 29thStreet, Bayonne, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, NJ.
