Shirley Fein, 87, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Mattison Crossing, Freehold.
She was born in Bayonne to the late Minnie (nee: Serkin) and Bennie Lazarov and was a resident of Delray Beach, Florida for 20 years before returning to New Jersey in 2017.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Women’s Club of the Uptown Synagogue and was on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Family and Counseling Service. Shirley was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated her life to caring for her family. Her meatballs, vegetable soup, and chocolate chip cookies are legendary, as was her surprising love for the New York Islanders.
Mrs. Fein was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gilbert in 2008, to whom she was married for 55 years. She is survived by her loving children, Jeffrey (Ivy, deceased) and Steven Fein (Wendy Penner) and Francie Turner (Gary); her four beloved grandchildren (Brian, Rebecca, Alina, and Hannah); and two adoring great grandchildren (Gabrielle and Hailey). She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Lazarov.
Graveside Services will be held under the direction of Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. at United Hebrew Cemetery, Staten Island, on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
