John Iwasiuta, 77, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at his residence. Born in Bielefeld, Germany, he had resided in Bayonne for over 50 years. Mr. Iwasiuta was a mechanical maintenance engineer for Royal Lubricant before retiring. He was previously employed by Powell Duffryn and Bethlehem Steel.
An Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the American Legion F.A. Makenzie Post #169, Bayonne.
Mr. Iwasiuta was predeceased by his beloved wife, Hanni Iwasiuta (nee: Hirt ). He is survived by his dear sisters, Stasia Komorowski and Erna Standard; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted from the Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. A funeral Mass will take place at the Parish of Blessed Miriam Teresa at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10:00 a.m. Private Cremation will follow. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 p.m.
