Father Gene was a part of my life as a student of Holy Trinity school and will always hold a special spot in my heart. His example of loving God with all his heart and loving his neighbor as himself will always bring me closer to God. Father Gene was so easy to talk to. If he could help bring you closer to God he would cross every bridge possible and never closed a door on your problem. My husband and I were married by Father Gene at Holy Trinity Church June of 1967.Our daughter were baptized by him. He tried to help us adopt our girls and always prayed for us. He told me that if we were blessed with a child he would Baptize our baby at our home. He did just that. He baptized Elizabeth Schultz June of 1973 at 222 Clinton Place in HACKENSACK. father Gene reconnected with my family when we moved to the jersey shore. We took him out to dinner and as Father's health failed we had to cut short our visits. I love baking him his favorite cookies.
A part of me has gone with him. He was a loving priest, person and friend. I shall always cherish his memory. He always spoke so dearly of his brother and sister my heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of his family.
Carol thee worked at Holy Trinity with Father Gene she encouraged me by telling me that Father Gene will be watching over me from heaven where Jesus is holding hin in his arms no more suffering just your eternal reward for all the love caring and kindness you exemplified with your life. Thank you Father Gene and keep us in your prayers. Eleanor Robertson Schultz -

Fr. Gene was a wonderful priest and all of us teenagers (back in the 1960's) loved him. He married my husband, Theophil, and me in November of 1967 and we kept in touch each Christmas. My parents (Eleanor and Joe Brizzolara) and my husband and I attended his 25th ordination celebration in Bayonne. He will surely be missed by all and was so kind to me acknowledging the death of my husband in January of 2014 and promising to pray for Theophil and me too. I will keep him and his family in my prayers. May Fr. Gene rest in peace with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Dear Mary,
That was a lovely note you wrote about Father Gene. I think we all have such wonderful and heartfelt memories of him. He was a very special person, and we all were blessed to know him. I am sorry about your husband. Sad how we lose touch over the years. I have good memories of knowing your sweet gentle spirit while in Holy Trinity School. Take care, Eileen Gough

Please accept our deepest sympathy. Father Gene was the most wonderful priest there could ever be. Holy Trinity was blessed to have him. Have known him since I was in 7th grade. He married my husband and I back in the '70's. Father Gene was full of humor and know he is smiling down on all of us now. We are blessed to have known him.
