Bill and I graduated from St. Mary's High School in the Class of 1955...he was always one of my favorite people. I remember his chauffeuring us around in his blue Chevvy(?). Happy memories! Please accept my deepest sympathy, Bernadette, Bridget and family. God bless you all and give you comfort.

Dear Bernadette, Please accept my sympathy at the loss of your beloved Bill & extend my condolences to Bridget & Doreen. Bill's accomplishments precede him. He was not only an asset to our profession, but to the community at large. Friday is my treatment day. I will not be able to pay my respect personally, but know I have never forgotten you were there for me when my Mother passed. May God bless & comfort you all at this time. Sincerely, Lou Squitieri

Message from Randolph A. Fisher - PP of Hudson County Federation of Holy Name Socieites-1983
October 20, 2016 10:03 PM

My sincere condolences to the immediate and extended Gaughan family. I am unable to be at the funeral since I now reside in Florida after my wife's lung transplant surgery. I will remember Bill and the family at mass before this weekend is over.

Take solace in knowing that Bill is within Our Father's embrace in heaven.

In 1983 I was the President of the Hudson County Holy Name Federation. Bill was one of the Vice Presidents of the County Federation. He was extremely dedicated to the high ideals and morals that our Federation espoused. Bill was always one ready to volunteer his time, talent and treasure. He was always ready to offer his counsel to me on difficult matters concerning the Federation or other personal matters. His intuition was always 'right on'. He was like a big brother to me.

Bill was also very kind and supportive of my family in other matters. He was always there to encourage and mentor my younger brother Gerard regarding his career as a Firefighter in Jersey City.

God bless you Bill Gaughan......we are all better for having you in our lives.

I look forward to seeing your smile when we meet again in heaven.

With Much Respect, Admiration, and Appreciation

Randy Fisher
