Marie Doris (Powanda) Callahan

Marie Doris Callahan (nee: Powanda), 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 07, 2015, at her residence.  Born in Bayonne, she was a lifelong resident.

Mrs. Callahan was a billing clerk for Bayonne Hospital for 17 years, retiring in 1994.  She was a devoted member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, a member of the Andreans, and a member of the St. Andrew’s Rosary Society.  She was also a member of the Centurians of St. Mary, Star of the Sea and the Prime of Life Seniors.

Mrs. Callahan was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edwin Callahan, Sr.  She is survived by her beloved children, Edwin Callahan, Jr., Patricia Finck, and her husband, Thomas, and Christine Daley, and her husband, John.  She was the beloved Grams of Kristy Finck and Tricia Intili, and her husband, Jamie, and their children, Addison and Jake Intili.  Mrs. Callahan is also survived by her dear siblings, Thomas, Daniel, Edward and Richard Powanda.  She was predeceased by her dear brother, John Powanda.

The funeral will be conducted by Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Monday, January 12, 2015.  A funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the St. Francis Breadline, 135 West 31st Street, New York, NY 10001 or The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation Cardiac Unit, P.O.
